L’opera vuole essere punto di incontro tra la mitologia greca e la più antica tradizione salentina. Da una parte le Baccanti di Diòniso (divinità legata alla pianta della vite); nelle feste in onore del dio le Menadi, con la danza ed una giusta quantità di vino, liberavano il proprio spirito. Così accadeva anche per le tarantolate salentine, che con la musica ed il ballo guarivano. La scultura contiene simbologie quali: il serpente, il labirinto, il tirso, il tamburello ed il tralcio di vite. In particolare, il labirinto ed il serpente, simboli classici della morte e della rinascita, legano la scultura ed il mito ai valori della forza, della rigenerazione e della natura.

The work aspires to be a meeting point between Greek mythology and the ancient tradition of Salento. On the one hand we have the Bacchants and Dionysus (the god assciated with the grapevine); at the celebrations of this god, the Menaeds liberated their spirits with dance and an amount of wine. The same thing happened during the Salento "tarantolate", which cured people through music and dance. The sculpture includes symbols such as the serpent, the labyrinth, the thyrsus, the tambourine and the grapevine. In particular, the labyrinth and the seprent, classical symbols of death and rebirth, relate the sculpture and the myth to the values of strength, regeneration and nature.
